Procurement

Coming from an accounting background and joining DSI Hospitality in late 2007, Sandra began creating the detailed FF&E Guestroom matrix for the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau, Bahamas, consisting of over 50 different guestroom types.  The template that Sandra developed has now become a standard for DSI on all projects and it is to be of major benefit by owners and operators during the development, coordination and monitoring of FF&E budgets and lead times for delivery

Sandra's arrival at DSI finally permitted DSI to offer a complete turnkey design and procurement service as an alternative to those clients seeking to benefit from having one company manage the whole process from design through to delivery and installation of the final project.  It also permitted DSI as designers to uphold their pledge to the Owners that the integrity of the design and specifications presented, once confirmed to be in budget, would be realized.

In 2009, Sandra moved to our sister company, Spectrum Purchasing Inc., where she has taken on the role of procurement agent for various international hospitality projects like Nassau’s British Colonial Hilton Bullion Bar, Coffee Lounge and AQUA Restaurant (designed by DSI Hospitality) along with the Crystal Cove Hotel and the Turtle Beach Resort model rooms, part of the Elegant Hotels Group in Barbados.

Sandra began 2010 with managing the procurement of the the Tamarind Hotel model room and The House soft goods renovation projects (both designed by DSI Hospitality), part of the Elegant Hotels Group. In summer 2010, the procurement process began for the full guestroom renovations of the the Crystal Cove Hotel, the Turtle Beach Resort and the Tamarind Hotel, which also included renovation of the public spaces.  Due to delays in the Owner's receipt of funding for the projects, only five months remained for the procurement, shipping and installation of all the FF&E and GC scope items, however, Sandra and the rest of the team were able to bring the project in on time and within budget. The Tamarind Hotel successfully re-opened on Nov 3, 2010. Both the Crystal Cove Hotel and the Turtle Beach Resort have already completed their initial phases of the guestroom renovations.

Her roles include creation of project cost estimates, preparation and issuing of purchase orders, payment and tracking of orders, liaising and coordinating with single source logistics management and freight forwarding companies, and updating Clients by the issuing of status reports.

Sandra holds an Associate's Degree in Business Administration.
